Do you wear Party wears??

Like me many would have faced such questions some or the other time, this needs to stop right away. It was out of the blue when few asked me “Cherry, Do you wear Party wear?”
Me: “When you say Party wear, The definition differs from person to person. And as per my definition, I wear what I am comfortable with!”
Question: “So What’s your definition?”
ME: “Anything that doesn’t make me feel uncomfortable or even makes me feel cold at any point in time!”
Question: “So you plan to go to a party fully packed?”
Me: “What do you mean by fully packed? I suppose you are not asking me if I wear revealing clothes to party!”
Reply: “What exactly I meant was do you wear shorts and stuff like that!”

This is when I want to hit on every person’s head who asks such questions, Seriously! I do not have to actually wear a short revealing or any uncomfortable dress to a place, yes! I wear Chudi to a Pub, but whats the problem there? Party just means a Social gathering to meet people and have some entertainment and have a small celebration, so be it why one has got to wear a particular kind of attire to meet up people?

Western wear does not only mean a short dress, but there are also jeans and decent top too. And I don’t understand why one bothers what someone wears? If you are unhappy taking them along in whatever they wear they buzz off- and throw such people out of your life!

Stop judging people on what they wear to a party, I would proudly wear a Saree to a Pub, and I give a damn if anyone feels I am odd, I am not sorry for carrying my Indian attire with pride. Rest is your quiet views.

Ramadevara Betta – Ramanagar

One day Outing on 25th Oct 2015- Inclusive of Birding Trail and a trek in the evening to watch the Sunset.

Itinerary:
Reach Ramadevara Betta in Ramanagar by 7:00 AM
Hunt the hill to look for the vultures
Sholay Shooting spot visit
Team building activities -Dodge Ball, Jaguja
Trek to the top of the hill to watch the sunset.

This adventure was planned for Nature watch by Jungle Wilderness. Nature watch is a bunch of nature enthusiasts who are keen to learn more about the Flora, Fauna with the details of their characteristics. The Main motto of this adventure was to know more about cultures and to educate students about their behavior. Me being open to all kinds of experience, It was more like a self-exploration trip with a group of 31 members.

That was incredible to watch the sunrise on our way to Ramanagar, it was the chilled breeze of the early morning empty roads due to Dussehra vacation and the Sunrise view which added spice to the journey.

Below are few of my sunrise clicks:

On reaching the base camp by 7:30 Am, we planned to take a small coffee break and starting the birding trail looking for vultures. We have begun climbing the hill in search of vultures, below are pictures of the dogs that accompanied us, view of the mountain from the bottom and the flowers found on our way.

Vultures started to show up as the sun rose little by little, they sat on the rocks heating/energizing themselves. There was a pair which was busy building nest, while the other took a small fly going round and round in the clear blue sky. Few clicks from my Note 4, tried my best to get a good click, wished for a good lens DSLR.

In the Above picture, you can notice that there are holes on the hill; that is where the Vultures live.

It was a little disheartening to see the life around, every place you visit has a new story to tell. We forget what we have and always look for more, but there are people out there who are still struggling for their daily lives, there is Anganwadi, Midday meal facility and even washrooms build around the school. But there seems to be no proper management nor did it look like a place that was given good care by the government. The picture above speaks a lot more than my words, it was the girl playing with so much innocence filled in her that forced me to click this pic.

After the Birding Trail, we all assembled in the base camp for Breakfast, followed by a visit to the Sholay shooting spot and then played a lot of team building activities. By then it was time for lunch, we were served with hot Ramanagar special Ghee Rice Tomato Chutney, white rice sambar, and curds. Heavy lunch and an hour’s time to relax before the trek, with few playing games and few clicking pictures and the rest playing Antakshari were just busy making memories.

We Started hiking to the peak at 3 pm, it was a medium trail of total 9 Kms up and down. The challenge was when we were to jump from a tunnel back to a hill, that adventure made me realize what seems impossible might actually be very easy. I had made my mind that my legs aren’t so much time and I will not be able to jump, even if I do I shall slip into the gap between the rock and the tunnel. But to my surprise with a little bit of caution I jumped at once, and then the trek was like a cake walk. It was a combination of Skandagiri hill trek and Channarayana Durga trek, on reaching the hilltop we saw the Ram temple which holds a history that there are no crows in that region. Yes, that’s true, we were not able to find even on crow on that hill alone.

Few clicks on my way up the hill and the view from the top which covers Bangalore and Mysore

The beauty of nature increases every second as the sun starts to set. I was happy to catch all the shades of sunset and was so excited to see my first sunset, on the same day I saw the sunrise. Since even the Full Moon day was near, I was able to watch the moon rise simultaneously in a big size.

Sometimes, we stop ourselves from being in a place where we are not comfortable, say for instance you are not accompanied by your close friends, or you are little agitating to mingle with a new group. It is actually in that instance you experience the best and learn the most about a place or thyself. This trip was somewhat like that too me, I learned a lot about myself and was able to get the most out of the visit.

With many more adventures lined up and many more places to cover, I suggest you visit this site some time to watch the Bengaluru and Mysuru together from the top and also to see the beautiful sunset.

Share a “Smile”

Today after work, I went to help my friends in their initiative “Feed Your Neighbours,” the main motto of this group is to “Eradicate Bangalore’s hunger”; well I must say they were successful in feeding 100000+ people in just 9 days. I would say it is a boon for me to be a small part of their initiative. I made new friends and met friendly people, and like always I also learned that life isn’t easy for all. It gives a lot of pain to me when I hear about experiences from the once who went to distribute food. There are people out there Suffering from hunger, there are few who haven’t had meals for two days and are so happy when we hand over a packet of rice to them. In one instance when Mata – The one who took the initiative for this great deed, went to provide a meal for the old person, he returned a small token of thanks by buying her juice, there is no greater pleasure than experiencing such acts of Kindness. No wonder the saying goes ” The one who has less gives more.” Another incident I would like to share here is that, one of my friend who was distributing food found a person who was empty stomach for the past two days, when they tried to hand over more than 2 packets to him, he refused and told them to go to Railway Station so that others also can fill their stomach. The pleasure of helping the needy is more precious than the wealth you make – my personal experience. Please Support their initiative, for more info check out “Feed Your Neighbour – An aim to eradicate Bangalore’s hunger.”

There are few other places I visit, for instance; a govt school or any schools in villages and teach a bit of trick to solve a math problem or to spread more information about how they can achieve great things. Helping a child or helping someone who has reached out to you for help, it gives a satisfaction in life which no job can give. Yes, we have the internet, we have internet.org but then how the people who have no power connect to these will? How will people connect to the web when they are not capable of buying a computer?

It is not just about eradicating Hunger or poverty or educating, it is about sharing and caring  I always observe people around us, and it makes me wonder how busy we are in our routine life. Sometimes it has come to my notice that when we come across any transgenders we look down at them pull up the windows and some are entirely against them and forget that they too have feelings and they too are just like us. I made few friends whom I met while they were begging in Signals, I would like to address them as “She” as they like it that way. It was a pain to know the process they undergo as transforming gender illegal and their carving to be a female if you notice they are cute too, but then again we just shut them out. I am not telling you to pay them money every time they stop you but don’t hurt them by making them feel not accepted; it is not their fault for what they are nor is it the fault of nature. Maybe I can’t solve their problems, I am at least not causing them more pain.

Sometimes old people carry heavy bags and struggle to cross the road, we might be in a rush to reach our destination but that 2 mins of help are not going to end the world for us. We are the examples for our next generation, I believe they learn to see around them; today I see that two people are ready to get married, but neither of them is willing to take care of their in-laws. They sacrificed their whole lives securing their children lives while their children left them on their own. If this is what our kids are seeing while they grow then please expecting them to take care of us while we are old will be wrong. These were just a few instances, we see so many incidents and experience even more vulnerable situations of life.

We never know what someone is going through, we never know who is on the verge of killing themselves or who is going through what, a smile to a stranger might sometimes make him feel secure again, at times help someone get out of loneliness and also can be a motivation to some one. The smile doesn’t cost anything this, sharing it doesn’t cause a decease either, while it only spreads love and cures the pain. Try to make someone smile, try to smile at a stranger; you will see the difference. Be the change you want to see, eradicate hatred, love and be loved.

You’re Everywhere

I know something’s gone awry but I feel like going on

I know I could be wrong but I also could be right

And I feel earth is turning faster; before I saw you there

I feel the sky is spinning lighter, before I saw you there

And I see the things are not the same again

Cause you’re here, cause you’re there, cause you’re everywhere

Now I know how many times can be still in the way

Hope this could last until we find brighter days

I know how many times can be still in the way

I, hoping this could last until we fade away

I know something’s gone awry but I feel like going on

I know I need to say Good bye for I’m off for the brand new day with you.

Nature Watch : Abhijith’s Farewell Trek

Abhijit: The Spiderman

Whats-App group messages coming one after another spamming my phone and irritating me while I concentrate on work, a message pop’s “Cherry, My admissions are Confirmed, this weekend I shall meet you all, and probably it will be my last week with you all in Bengaluru.” This was the message from Abhijith one of the good friends I made through “Nature Watch.” Nature Watch is a small group of naturists which was created by the students of Acharya Institute of Technology; it personally gave me an opportunity to meet young students who inspire me in many ways and to meet nature.

Abhijith, Student from AIT, studied Computer Science and is a 2015 BE pass-out, while his friends were busy searching for Jobs, he was inspired by Artificial Intelligence which led to him choosing Masters in it. After a lot of search and discussion, he decided to stick with University of St. Andrews, where he shall pursue his M. Sc Artificial Intelligence under Science Faculty. He is like this cute Humpty Dumpty, always smiling with a pure heart.  My first trip with Nature watch consisted of 30 students,  while only a few stayed connected one of whom is Abhijith.  We planned to give him a surprise Farewell during his last visit to Bengaluru especially to spend time with us.

Monkey Love

We batch of 7 decided to trek Channarayana Durga; and visiting some of the surrounding areas like – Devarayanadurga, Madhugiri, and finally the Jayamangali Black Buck Reserve. Along with Abhijith were my close associates Rajesh Gopinath, Vetrivel, Harsha, Arun, and Pallavi. We started our journey to Devarayanadurga from Bangalore in XUV, on reaching Durga where the temples remained close we explored the surrounding where a monkey fell in love with me. Below are few of the clicks and the view from Devarayanadurga.

Channarayana Durga Trek: To describe it in less than 50 words: This is one of the best and toughest treks we ever went on. Channarayana Durga standing at about 3800 feet, was no easy mission to complete. This hillock is hardly known to people I can say confidently as we were the only ones climbing it (Considering it as a weekend, but the shopkeepers around said usually there is small crowd during Sundays) Trust me,  we had not expected such big hillock; we were awestruck. With an inclination of about 60 degrees, it was challenging for most of us, since it was the first Trek for Pallavi, while Abhi had to carry his weight and Harsha feared heights. Vetri as always flew like a bird and was the first to reach every resting spot followed by me. This did not stop any of us from conquering it.

Motivating Abhi to climb was more fun, every time I look back at him show him chocolate and ask him to come collect them from me on reaching the top. With all the chit chat and motivating one another to climb it was the real beauty of nature that kept us going. The below is the collage of few clicks from the collection, we found a water reserve, did a little of bird watching and a lot of my nonsense talks without which all our trips are incomplete.

Last but not the least:
Dear Abhi,
All the best for your future, we look forward to seeing you succeed in every step you take. And remember our bets and trades made. Hope you have a beautiful journey ahead. We will miss you for sure, but then don’t forget to book our flights to come visit you this summer.
With Lots of Love,
Cherry.

Food! Don’t waste it…

It was after a busy day and hectic schedule I rushed home for dinner; asked my mom what’s there to eat? She said there are some rice curry and curd from the noon that’s left over and if she can serve me the same. She looked dull, she looked tired. I then felt asking her to cook something fresh is not right. I served for myself and my sister;  the rice was fine but the curry was little burnt and she by mistake gave us an old curd packet. I didn’t open my mouth just finished, while my sister said it doesn’t taste good and left the meal on her plate. This hurt my mom, and me as well. I told my sister never leave food on the plate, and don’t ever hurt the one who has cooked for you.

It is not that I was born with a silver spoon, there was a time when we grew tomato and other vegetable plants in our backyard so that we could pay for our school expenses. It is not just me, even you would have gone through this some or the other way when your parents were saving for your education or for your expenses. Like you even they have good days and bad days… Today you might earn more than them and give them a lavish lifestyle, but don’t forget your roots. Don’t forget the sacrifices they made in order to fulfill your needs. You are not going to die, if you eat a little-burnt food, it is not like you live in a 5-star hotel; expecting them to serve you in style.

There are people out there still struggling to get even rotten food. So, my kind request to one and all is that never waste food and never hurt the one who cooks for you.

Have People Forgotten What is LOVE?

Love is Patient, Love is Kind. It does not envy, It does not boast, it is not Proud. It does not dishonor other, it does not Self-Seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of Wrongs. The Greatest Five Theoretical definitions to “What is Love” are:

  • The Physicist: “Love is Chemistry.”
  • The Physiotherapist: “Love has many Guises.”
  • The Philosopher: “Love is passionate Commitment.”
  • The Romantic Novelist: “Love drives all great stories.”
  • The Nun: “Love is free yet binds us.”

My Definition: “Love is pure, love is a strength. Love is setting one free to see the beauty of that living being.”

The above context might seem like a cliché to the topic of the blog, but that was just the definition what love means to different people with diverse backgrounds. To me, the current generation seems to be in a rush, or they are rather moving at a fast forward speed. I don’t tell that is wrong but in the process are they forgetting the primary value of human being?

Few things that come to my mind when I say have they forgotten what is love are:

  1. Availability: We make ourselves always available online but are we actually available when one needs us? The Current trend of availability is chat 24/7, and everyone is busy with it so much that they are actually not sure if they are ever free to go meet someone.  This just means that we are living in the virtual world and are not ready to go speak to someone one face. The whole process of falling in love to breaking up is done online. Has one had the time to actually pick up a pen and write a letter to someone? Do people now know the feelings that one go through when writing their first letter?
  2. Materialistic Love: We are clinging more to the greedy love like My phone, my laptop, my iPod. No one is ready to give up these to make a conversation with their family nor with any other person. I usually do not pick calls or revert to messages when I am with someone because I personally feel I am disrespecting the person in front of me. If you want to talk to someone who has sent a text then why are you meeting with someone go meet them instead?
  3. Looking for Perfection: Everyone wants a perfectionist, everyone is looking for an idealistic person who meets their expectations. Well, like you are not perfect every other person are not perfect either. Rather than looking for perfection in them, when I say end I mean –  he/ she must be like this, this is the qualification/qualities they must poses.
  4. Afraid of Rejection:  One is so scared of rejection that they do not make an effort with someone to blend in with, they are always looking for something better. Not one is considerate about improvising the one whom they already have. One Rejects to avoid being rejected. It is always seen that the reason for break ups are very subtle in the current generation.
  5. Rapid lifestyle: We meet people. Exchange numbers chat, and then they are forgotten. This goes in a cycle. We have so many people on our contact but are they all remembered, a text on some special day or an occasion doesn’t help to remain connected with that person. You are in a chase to meet someone new, and in search of someone better, you are never happy with what you have.

With these on my mind, it makes me wonder are people of this generation aware of what love is, with screwed up mentality about the concept of love, are we using individuals in the name of love. Personally, I feel falling in love with someone means loving them the way they are including their flaws, ups’ and downs of life and respecting, listening and being heard. It is to set them free from bonds to see them flourish. You know the flower is beautiful, and you love it. If u pluck, it dies; but if u water, it blossoms and that’s love.

For once, leave your online apps, call someone, talk to someone, make time for someone you love and see the difference in knowing a person in real than in the virtual world.

Last I suggest you watch this video which explains what exactly are we doing wrong.

Though it is highlighted
Adhu pattap paer illai
It is not even a title name…
En perin pinnaal varum paer
It is the name that comes after my name
Naan sollavaa..?
Should I still tell ?
You never find a better time
Make a stand you’ll be fine
Peridhaana perum adhu thaan
It is a very big name..
Solla solla mooche vaangum

Ethanai ezhuthukkal endraal
if you ask me how many letters it has..

I don’t have an answer to it..
Sirithaana perum adhu thaan
It is very small name
Sattendru mudinthe pogum
If I pronounce it, it will end soon
Eppadich solven naanum
how do I tell you,
Mozhi illaiye..
I am not sure..
Solli vittaal udhadu ottum
If I tell my lips will get stuck
