Globalization Services GDI Event – Note Book distribution at SGRV

5 years of continuous Notebooks contribution to Sri Guru Raghavendra Vidhyanilaya has now become a ritual to the Globalization Services team. Every year it is exciting to come up with a design for the book covers that motivates children. “Knowledge is wealth”, what better way to give back a little to the society than to help them gain knowledge and increase their hunger for knowledge.

In order to motivate these kids for achieving their dreams, setting new boundaries, we group of 20 members addressed small group of students. The efforts put in designing the Cover and getting the books printed before the start of the school and in getting it delivered on time was nothing when compared to the smiles of the children who received them. SGRV heartily welcomed us on 5th June 2015, we were greeted with care by the faculty, followed by spending time in each class and distributing the books. While it reminded us of our school days, it also made us one among them.

We always talk about making a change in the society and this can be done by embedding our values in children at their early age. We talk about making India completely literate but how are we actually trying to make this vision come true? Personally I learnt a lot when we visited the school. While going back to our school days was just like rewinding time and revisiting our memories, it also reminded how times have changed and our innocence is lost. While few students said they wanted to become like us when they grow up, they seeing us as an example is one of the best feelings you can ever feel. Every minute spent there talking or playing with the kids just made us realize, “How far we are to achieve our vision”

SGRV gave us an experience that motivate us to share the knowledge we have and also to stay grounded. Most of all seeing the children safeguarding their share of books and using them efficiently was overwhelming.
